Box Score HAYS, Kan. – The Newman men's soccer team fell to Fort Hays State, 3-0, in a non-conference game on Sunday (Sept. 22) at the FHSU Soccer Stadium. The Jets dropped to 0-4-1 on the season.
 
The Tigers took the lead in the 41st minute on a shot off a free kick from the right corner of the box. FHSU led 1-0 after the first 45 minutes.
 
FHSU scored quick back-to-back goals in the second half. First, the Tigers scored in the 57th minute for a 2-0 advantage, and then less than 3 minutes later FHSU tallied its third goal for a 3-0 lead.
 
NU totaled five shots in the game, including three shots on goal. Five different Jets had shots in the contest. FHSU finished with 14 shots.
 
The Jets are back in action on Wednesday when NU hosts Southwestern Christian at 7 p.m. at Wilkins Field.
