WICHITA – The Newman wrestling team finished its home schedule with a 42-6 loss to Central Missouri on Thursday (Jan. 30) at Fugate Gymnasium. The Jets won two of the 10 weight classes.
 
After UCM won the 125 lb. class, Kris Workman gave NU its first win with a 10-3 decision victory over Andrew Robinson. The win tied the team score at 3-3.
 
The Mules won the next two matches by pin to go up 15-3.
 
Colton Duhr continued his strong season with a win in the 157 lb. class. He won a 7-0 decision over Zeb Spicer. The team score was 15-6 in favor of UCM.
 
UCM won the final five weight classes, including three wins by forfeit for the final 42-6 score.
 
The Jets travel for three straight MIAA duals. NU goes to Fort Hays State on Sunday (Feb. 2) for a 2 p.m. dual at Gross Memorial Coliseum.
