WICHITA – The Newman Athletic Department will be having a hot dog cookout as part of the final home baseball game on Saturday (May 3) against Arkansas-Fort Smith. The nine-inning home finale starts at 1 p.m. at McCarthy Field on the campus of Newman University.
 
Saturday's regular season finale is also Senior Day for the NU baseball team. Ten seniors will be honored before the game against the Lions.
 
NU and UAFS play a three-game series this weekend, and the Jets can clinch a spot in the Heartland Conference Tournament with a victory. The series starts on Friday (May 2) with a doubleheader at 3 p.m. Game one is a seven-inning contest, and the nightcap will be nine innings.
