WICHITA – The Newman wrestling team hosts Central Missouri in its final home dual of the season tonight (Feb. 11) at 7 p.m. inside Fugate Gymnasium. Before the college dual, there will be the Derby and Maize Kid's Clubs in action at 5:30 p.m.
 
The Jets are currently 2-9 and 0-4 in the MIAA. All of their conference losses are against ranked opponents. In their most recent dual, Bobby Bowman defeated the No. 3-ranked wrestler in the 197 lb. class, however, NU fell, 33-10, to Lindenwood. NU defeated Pratt CC, 31-13, on Jan. 28 at Fugate Gymnasium and its other victory was a 25-21 win over Indianapolis on Jan. 4 in Warrensburg, Mo. The Jets are 1-1 in home duals this season.
 
Central Missouri is currently 4-12 and also 0-4 in the MIAA. The Mules have wins over Minot State, University of Mary, Indianapolis and Central Baptist College. On the road, UCM is 0-3. In their most recent duals, the Mules lost 30-11 against Fort Hays State and fell, 43-9, to Lindenwood. The UCM lineup features No. 2-ranked and national championship Frank Cagnina in the 149 lb. class.
 
After tonight's dual, there will be a pep rally at 9 p.m. at Fugate Gymnasium.
 
The Newman wrestling team is back in action on Sunday (Feb. 15) at the MIAA Conference Tournament, hosted by UCM in Warrenburg, Mo. Wrestling starts at 10 a.m.
