WICHITA, Kan. – After a competitive road weekend the Newman men's soccer team returns home for another round of conference play this weekend against St. Mary's on Thursday and Texas A&M International Saturday.
SCOUTING NEWMAN
The Jets (7-5-2, 5-3-2, 17 pts Heartland) played two tough road matches this past weekend. Newman took on Oklahoma Christian last Thursday and fell 3-2 in double overtime and then traveled to Rogers State on Saturday, escaping with a tough 1-0 victory over the Hillcats.

St. Mary's (5-6-2, 4-5-1, 13 pts Heartland) won both conference matches last weekend. The Rattlers first took on Texas-Permian Basin at home last Thursday, winning 2-0 and then won a decisive 5-1 match over Lubbock Christian Saturday afternoon in San Antonio.

Texas A&M International (5-8, 4-6, 12 pts Heartland) split both conference matches this past weekend. The Dustdevils hosted Lubbock Christian and Texas-Permian Basin on Thursday and Saturday. Texas A&M International dropped a 1-0 match to Lubbock Christian but won 3-1 over Texas-Permian Basin to complete its weekend.

He got his first goal of the season in 22' minute against Oklahoma Christian last Thursday and then recorded his game winning goal on a penalty kick in the 25' minute against Rogers State Saturday afternoon.
