WICHITA, Kan. — Into the Heartland Conference semifinals for the third consecutive season, the Newman men's soccer team heads to Wichita Falls, Texas this weekend after collaring a victory over Rogers State in Tuesday's quarterfinal.

SCOUTING NEWMAN

The Jets (10-7-2) snapped a two-game losing skid in dramatic fashion on Tuesday, getting an 88th-minute goal to go ahead late and hold on for a 2-1 victory over Rogers State to keep their season going.

SCOUTING MIDWESTERN STATE

The Mustangs (15-2-1) won the regular season title in their first year as affiliate members of the Heartland, but their lone loss came to Newman, which grabbed a 1-0 win back in September. MSU is on a 10-game winning streak since that setback.

SCOUTING ST. EDWARD'S

The Hilltoppers (15-2-1) started off the season winning 12 of their first 13 games, but then suffered a tie against Eastern New Mexico, then a loss to MSU that ultimately ended up deciding the conference title. They earned a 3-1 victory over Newman in the teams' lone matchup of the season.

SCOUTING WEST TEXAS A&M

The Buffs (14-4-1) lost to Eastern New Mexico to close the regular season, but got some payback in a big way, ending the Greyhounds' season with a 5-0 victory in Tuesday's other quarterfinal matchup. Their only other conference losses on the year came against the top two seeds in this event, and they won the matchup against the Jets, 1-0 in overtime in early October.
