NOTES

-Bugner somehow significantly boosted his .444 batting average from the opening weekend. The junior's .565 mark leads all Heartland Conference batters, and he has a six-game hitting streak and seven-game streak of reaching base safely.

-The Jets' run against Wayne State was the team's first sweep in a four-game series since turning back Cameron four straight times in 2012. That came against the side chosen to finish sixth in the NSIC. Washburn was picked sixth in the MIAA.

-The Ichabods have already faced Southern Arkansas three times this year, handing them two of their three losses in nonconference play. The Muleriders were ranked in the top 15 nationally. Washburn is averaging an impressive 7.57 runs per game in the early going.
