WICHITA, Kan. — Facing a nonconference matchup for the first time in two weeks, the Newman baseball team hosts Northwestern Oklahoma State in a single game Tuesday at 5 p.m. at McCarthy Field.

SCOUTING NEWMAN

The Jets (18-9) saw a five-game winning streak snapped in the series finale against Texas-Permian Basin last weekend. That series featured three games decided by one run, including a pair of walk-off victories for the Jets. It was the second straight series win for Newman after sweeping past Oklahoma Panhandle the week before.

SCOUTING THE OPPONENT

The Rangers (11-21) are on a bit of a hot streak after taking two of three against Southern Nazarene in a Great American Conference set last weekend. The win Friday night and in the first game Saturday was the third time this season NWOSU has put together back-to-back victories.

-The short trip north for the Rangers breaks up a six-game homestand, as they are between two home weekends in GAC play. NWOSU gets a return trip from Newman at the end of next month, as the Jets head to Alva, Oklahoma April 26.
