WICHITA, Kan. – The Newman volleyball teams to Missouri for its last weekend tournament of the regular season for the 2016 Peggy Martin Crossover Challenge, where they'll be going up against four nonconference opponents in Southern Arkansas, Henderson State, Arkansas Tech and Central Missouri.
SCOUTING NEWMAN
The Jets (7-3), played their second home game of the season against Bethel College on Tuesday night and won swept the match 3-0 over the Threshers. NU had a remarkable .416 team hitting percentage against Bethel. Before the match on Tuesday, the Jets were in Kearney, Nebraska for a weekend tournament and went 3-1 during that four-game span.

SCOUTING THE MULERIDERS
Southern Arkansas played on Tuesday against Arkansas Tech who is also in this tournament and lost 3-0. Before that match the Muleriders (3-6 overall) went to a tournament in Arkadelphia, Arkansas last weekend and lost to Lindenwood, West Alabama and Northern State, but beat Missouri Southern to go 1-3 over the weekend.
SCOUTING THE REDDIES
Henderson State played Tuesday night as well and lost to Harding at home 3-1. Before that match the Reddies (5-5 overall) hosted a tournament last weekend at home and went 2-2, losing to Northern State and Drury but beat Missouri Southern and Pittsburg State to finish their weekend.
SCOUTING THE GOLDEN SUNS
Arkansas Tech went up against Southern Arkansas for its home opener Tuesday night and swept the match 3-0. Last weekend the Golden Suns (6-3 overall) attended the same tournament as Southern Arkansas and Henderson State and went 3-1 over the weekend. Arkansas Tech lost to Northern State but beat Drury, Lindenwood and Pittsburg State.
SCOUTING THE JENNIES
The host team Central Missouri played last weekend at the Colorado Premier Challenge in Denver, Colorado. The Jennies (6-2 overall) went 3-1 last weekend by beating Metro State, Colorado School of Mines and Regis but lost to top 25 Angelo State.
