WICHITA, Kan. — Looking to charge back into the conversation after a tough weekend, the Newman women's soccer team hits the road to face Lubbock Christian and Oklahoma Christian in Heartland Conference action this Thursday and Saturday.
SCOUTING NEWMAN
The Jets (3-3-3, 2-2-1, 7 pts Heartland) saw their hot start slow just a bit last weekend, falling 2-1 to Dallas Baptist and 3-1 to then-No. 23 St. Edward's. Newman took the Patriots to overtime and weathered a tough first half to trail the Hilltoppers just 1-0 at the break before dropping that decision.

-OC has been shut out in five of its six losses, but score goals in bunches when they get going, netting eight finishes in their three victories.
-The Chaps rank in the top three in the league in nine of the 11 team statistical categories kept by the NCAA, including second, and 11th nationally, with 2.57 assists per game.
-Newman and LCU are currently tied for fourth in the Heartland Conference standings, each at seven points to distance themselves from sixth-place Rogers State (4 points) and still behind St. Mary's (11) for third.
