WICHITA, Kan. — Facing its toughest lineup from top to bottom it has faced this year, the No. 22 Newman wrestling team fell to No. 9 Central Oklahoma 43-6 Wednesday night at Fugate Gymnasium.
Dustin Reed at 125 and Tyler Mies at 149, who are both nationally ranked at No. 2 and No. 9 respectively, picked up identical 5-0 victories to push their win streaks along. Reed has now won seven bouts in a row, while Mies ran his streak to 10 straight.
The Jets (1-4, 0-4 MIAA) close out the regular season with another dual, heading to Lindenwood Saturday evening.
