WICHITA, Kan. – The Newman baseball team will be home for the second straight weekend, preparing to take on Upper Iowa in a four-game nonconference series at McCarthy Field Saturday and Sunday.
SCOUTING NEWMAN
The Jets (2-5) played Wayne State last weekend for their home opening series. Newman took Game 1 of the three-game series over the Wildcats by a score of 7-4, with
Avery Chenier earning his victory of the season. The Jets then got in a shootout with Wayne State in Game 2 but fell 12-10. The Wildcats would take the series from Newman in Game 3 by a score of 12-5 to complete the weekend.
