WICHITA, Kan. – After a wet and soggy start to the week, the Newman baseball team is still set to take on Arkansas-Fort Smith in a three-game Heartland Conference series, beginning with a doubleheader Friday at 3 p.m. and single game at 1 p.m. Saturday.
SCOUTING NEWMAN
The Jets (12-15, 2-4 Heartland) were supposed to take on Northwestern Oklahoma State Tuesday afternoon on the road but due to weather it was rescheduled for April 11. Newman was last in action down in Odessa, Texas going up against two nonconference opponents. First the Jets took on former conference member Texas-Permian Basin in a doubleheader on Friday and won both games with late inning dramatics. Newman finished up its weekend adventure on Saturday by going up against Colorado School of Mines in another doubleheader and split it to go 3-1 over the entire weekend.
