WICHITA, Kan. – After a long weekend roadtrip the Newman baseball team hits the road to Emporia State Wednesday afternoon for a rematch from last week.
 
The Jets (6-9) took on Augustana up in South Dakota this past weekend in a three-game nonconference series. Both teams took a game of the doubleheader on Saturday with Newman taking Game 1 7-3 and the Vikings taking Game 2 9-6. Augustana won the series with a 6-5 win on Sunday to wrapup the series.
 
The Hornets (13-3) traveled to Quincy, Illinois to take on Quincy University in a three-game nonconference series, winning two out of three games. Newman and Emporia State played at McCarthy Field for a midweek nonconference game on Wednesday with the Hornets coming away with an 8-6 victory.
