Jets Head To NWOSU After Schedule Change

WICHITA, Kan. – The Newman baseball team finally gets its chance to take on Northwestern Oklahoma State Wednesday evening in Alva, Oklahoma. The game was originally scheduled for Tuesday at home but due to forecasted weather it was switched to Wednesday.

In exchange, next week's scheduled road game at Northwestern Oklahoma State, will now be played at McCarthy field on April 11.

The Jets (14-16, 4-5 Heartland) have turned it around of late, winning seven of their last 10 games, including taking back-to-back Heartland Conference series. Newman took two-of-three games from Arkansas-Fort Smith in this past weekend's conference series at home.

The Rangers (8-25) come into the midweek nonconference game on a current 10-game losing streak that dates back to March 17.

Newman has buckled down of late as well when it comes to pitching and fielding, only allowing 16 runs in its past seven games, which equals out to a little more than two runs allowed per game during that stretch.

The game on Wednesday will start at 5 p.m. and there will be live statistics and video at www.newmanjets.com.
