PUEBLO, Colo. — The Newman Men's soccer team lost a close game Friday night to Colorado State-Pueblo 1-0. Both teams used strong defense throughout the game, but in the second half, the Thunderwolves were able to use a Newman foul to score on a free kick for the lone score of the game.

The Jets (0-1) were able to take the ball downfield multiple times getting the shots they were looking for against the Thunderwolves (1-0). In the second half, Santiago Tinta of the Thunderwolves was able to use a Newman foul to gain a free kick and score from the top of the box giving the Thunderwolves the 1-0 lead and later the victory.

How It Happened

-Early in the second half both teams working their hardest to gain an opportunity to get the lead late, but with some fouls, late Colorado State was able to gain an advantage on a free kick giving the team the lead late and later the one-point victory.

Notes

-Newman was able to lead the game in shots on goal five to four over the Thunderwolves.

-Enzo Nails and Ed Jabbari were able to lead the Jets in shots on goal with two each in the one-point loss.
