Fisher places at Midwest Classic

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - Newman traveled to Indianapolis, Indiana for the 42nd Midwest Classic hosted by the University of Indianapolis.  The team competed over Saturday and Sunday at the Classic.  Jace Fisher placed for Newman at 157 pounds.

8 wrestlers competed for the Jets.  Their results are included in the release.  Newman placed 31st with 19.5 points as a team.

The best performance on the weekend came from Freshman Jace Fisher.  Fisher placed 8th at 157 pounds.  The Freshman started the day 3-0 before running into some stiff competition knocking him to the Consolation Rounds.  Fisher won another match to reach the 7th place match earning himself a guaranteed place.  Fisher suffered a defeat and placed 8th, earning the only place for the Jets on the weekend.

MIAA foe UCO took home the team championship with 106.5 points.

The Jets will enjoy the holidays before returning back to the mat with the William Jewell Duals on Sunday, January 9th.
