Four Wrestlers place at the Reece Wright-Conklin Jet Open

WICHITA, Kan. - Newman Wrestling hosted the RWC Jet Open Sunday in Fugate Gymnasium.  Nine teams brought competitors both attached and unattached to compete on four mats.  Teams included Oklahoma, Pratt, Labette, UCO, Oklahoma State and more.  The Jets sent 5 attached wrestlers to the mat and one unattached.

D'Andre Brown competed at 125 and appeared in the championship match in which he suffered his lone defeat on the day by a 1-0 decision.  Brown went 3-1 on the day.

Chadwick Stahl lost his first match at 133 by tech fall.  Aside from the adversity, Stahl worked his way through the bracket to the third place match in which he won a 5-4 decision over Cloud's Bray Skinner.

Garrett Lange saw his first competitive action on the home mat and showed out with a second place finish.  After defeating two Broncho Wrestlers, Lange went up against Victor Voinovich of Oklahoma State in the championship match where he ultimately fell.

JD Johnson worked his way through a round robin at 174.  Johnson went undefeated over 5 matches.  The Redshirt Sophomore accumulated 2 falls and one tech fall on his way to a dominating day at the RWC Jet Open.

Rounding out the Jets' was heavyweight Hunter Scott.  Scott, a Freshman from Mulvane, got the Jets fastest fall of the day pinning his opponent from Labette in just 1:10.

The Jets are back in action next Sunday, December 12 at Fort Hays State.
