Box Score WICHITA, Kan. – On Friday afternoon, the Newman Jets Men's Soccer team started their 2021 season hosting McPherson College at Stryker Sports Complex. The Jets had the lead at halftime but McPherson wouldn't go away, outscoring the Jets 4-0 in the second half to defeat Newman 4-1.

How it Happened

The Jets would get on the board first in the 3^rd minute after a corner kick that set up a header was deflected before Hunter Clark put back the shot that gave the Jets the early 1-0 lead.  Both teams would then battle for the remainder of the first half with no one scoring and the Jets would lead 1-0 going into halftime.  The start of the second half, both teams continued to battle until the 48^th minute, McPherson would get a chance at a penalty kick and would convert tying up the game 1-1.  McPherson would break the tie in the 56^th minute with another penalty kick goal that gave them the 2-1 lead.  McPherson would add to the score in the 79 minute with a goal by Carlos Reyna to give them a 3-1 lead. In the very next minute, McPherson would add one more goal by Carlos Reyna that would ice the matchup and help McPherson collect the 4-1 win over Newman.
