WICHITA, Kan. – On Friday night, the Newman Wrestling team hosted #2 Nebraska-Kearney inside Fugate Gymnasium.  The Jets were unable to pick up the win as the Lopers would shut them out 42-0.
 
The Jets had a couple of good bouts on the night. The first coming at the 141 pounds, where Tyler Lawley and Nick James would battle. A match that would have to be settled in overtime where James would pick up the win with a takedown to beat Lawley by a 4-2 decision.

The biggest matchup of the night was the 165 pound matchup where #3 Kameron Frame took on #2 Matt Malcom. In this great matchup the Lopers Malcom would pick up the victory over Frame by a 5-0 decision.

With the final match of the evening, at 285 Jacob Stoneberger took on Lee Herrington with Herrington picking up the 4-1 decision that helped the Lopers defeat the Jets by a final score of 42-0. 
 
The Jets will be back in action on Saturday, February 6^th as they travel to Warrensburg, Missouri to take on Central Missouri with the dual starting at 5:00 PM.
