WICHITA, Kan. – Newman Wrestling will take on two MIAA Conference teams this week on back to back days. Newman will host #2 Nebraska Kearney on Friday night for Senior Night inside Fugate Gymnasium starting at 6:00 PM before they travel to Warrensburg, Missouri to take on Central Missouri Saturday with the dual starting at 5:00 PM.
Newman falls to #19 Fort Hays State Sunday
Last weekend, the #23 Jets traveled to Hays, Kansas to take on #19 Fort Hays State where they would fall to the Tigers in a close 26-21 defeat.

Baylor Smith fall at 26 seconds, and
Nate Panagakis with a 12-2 major decision victory was not enough for the Jets in the 26-21 defeat last Sunday.

#2 Nebraska Kearney Lopers
The Lopers are 8-3 on the season and 1-0 in the MIAA. Their latest matchup was against Central Missouri on Jan. 28
th where the Lopers defeated the Mules 49-6. The Lopers have 7 wrestlers in the top 12 led by #1 Wrestler at 125 Josh Portillo, #2 Wrestler at 133 Wesley Dawkins, and #4 Wrestler at 149 Sam Turner.
Central Missouri
The Mules are 1-7 on the season and 0-2 in the MIAA. Their latest matchup was against #4 Lindenwood where they fell 54-3 and against Kentucky Wesleyan where they won 35-17.
