WICHITA, Kan. – The Newman Jets return to McCarthy Field for their final home regular season series against the Hillcats of Rogers State for a three game set starting Saturday April 24th at 2:00 PM on Paul Sanagorski Day.
 
Newman takes game 2 at Pittsburg State thanks to the long ball
The Jets were able to win game 2 of the weekend series at Pittsburg State thanks in large part to the grand slam by Zack Hargrove and a 2 run homerun by Max Bajza that propelled the Jets to a 12-8 game two victory.
 
Newman collects second most hits this season in a 12-8 victory in game 2.
The Jets collected their second highest hits on the season with 17 in game 2's victory at Pittsburg State.  The Jets also collected 16 runs on 30 hits during the 3 game series.  As a team the Jets have a .278 batting average led by Hayden VanDePol with a .350 batting average and Tyler Push at .338.
 
Schumann's performance in game 2 helps the Jets in 12-8 victory
In game 2 of the series, Derek Schumann took the mound going 6 innings and giving up 4 earned runs that helped propel the Jets to victory in game 2 12-8 at Pittsburg State.  The Newman pitching staff has a team ERA of 10.88 led by Weston Murrow with a 2.25 ERA.

Rogers State Hillcats
The Hillcats are 13-15 on the season and 10-14 in the MIAA.  Their previous matchup was against Washburn on April 18^th where they split the doubleheader falling 11-4 in game 2 and winning 10-8 in game 3.  The Hillcats have 4 players hitting above .300 led by Brandon Bradshaw with a .347 batting average.  The Hillcats Pitching staff has a team ERA of 5.28 led by CJ Edwards with a 3.32 ERA.
 
Series History
This will be the 28^th, 29^th, and 30^th meetings between these two schools with Newman leading the series 14-13..
