WICHITA, KS – Zach Brake has been hired as Assistant Athletic Director for Communications, a new role filled after the departure of former SID Collin Loutensock, Athletic Director Joanna Pryor announced earlier today.  The position is effective immediately.
 
Brake came to Newman University as a Graduate Assistant in August of 2020 from Earlham College.  During the 2020-2021 athletic campaigns, Zach managed game day operations and assisted with social media efforts.
 
Joanna Pryor said, "I am excited to continue working with Zach and seeing his impact on the athletic department in another capacity."  She continued saying, "He brings a wide range of experience to the position and energy to promote Newman Athletics."
 
Brake pitched collegiately at DII Saint Joseph's College (Rensselaer, IN) for one year and DIII Earlham College (Richmond, IN) for three after SJC announced its closing.  Along with being a student-athlete, Zach assisted in Sports Information as a volleyball and basketball statistician.
 
"I am eager to provide coverage of Newman Athletics and invest in our student athletes," Zach said.  "I am grateful for the continued support of my family as I chase after my dreams."
 
The Columbus, Ohio native completed his MBA in Business Analytics from Newman in August of 2021.
