Indianapolis, Ind. - Newman Wrestling competed in their final tournament before Christmas, heading to the 44th Annual Midwest Classic hosted by the University of Indianapolis. 

Jace Fisher placed in his third consecutive tournament, finishing in 4th following an impressive two days. 

Fisher had defeated one of the top wrestlers in the MIAA last week in the Jets dual with Central Oklahoma, and would continue his red hot season defeating several ranked opponents on his way to finishing in 4th overall in the 165 weight class. 

Fisher went 6-2, including a victory over #3 ranked Dillon Walker in the consolation semi finals. He would also defeat #8 Hunter Jump and #12 Brady Schuh in the process. Fisher was ranked 16th in the country in the 165 weight class last week, and his stock will certainly rise in the coming weeks following his victories. 

Dylan Sheler and Chris Mapp made decent runs in the consolation brackets as well this weekend, as they had a decent outing. 

The Jets will be back on the mats for another tournament just after New Years, as they will head to Hastings, Nebraska to compete at the Hastings open.
