Garrett VanDeventer has been named the MIAA Pitcher of The Week for his performance last Friday in the 5-1 win over UCO.

VanDeventer threw 8 innings of 3 hit baseball, giving up just 1 run in route to his 4th victory of the season. Garrett tied his season high with 6 strikeouts in the game 1 victory.

The award is his 2nd of the season. VanDeventer became the first Jets pitcher to earn MIAA Pitcher of The Week earlier in the season when he threw a complete game 3 hit shutout over then No. 21 Rogers State. (

VanDeventer has thrown the most innings on the pitching staff this season (50) and leads the starting rotation in E.R.A.

You can catch Garrett in action this Friday when Northwest Missouri heads to McCarthy Field for a 3 game conference series. It is a part of the Jets 12 game home stand that continues this afternoon against Fort Hays State.
