Box Score 2 TAHLEQUAH, OK- The Jets faced Northeastern State for a double header.
Game 1:
Northeastern State came out with hot bats to start the game. The Riverhawks took a 5-0 lead after the first inning.
The Jets cut the lead to 4 with an RBI single from Torri Waggoner, but was unable to add anymore runs.
The Riverhawks extended their lead with two runs in the bottom of the 3rd inning, which sealed the game.
NSU took game 1, 7-1.
Gianna Navarro went 2-4 from the plate.
Jaleigh Conkle went 2-3
Game 2:
Game two was a back and forth battle. The Jets took the early lead.
Gianna Navarro leadoff the Jets with a double.
Madi Canez was able to reach with a single to center.
Samantha Gutierrez came up big with an RBI to left field that scored 1.
Anissa Ramos with an RBI sac fly scored another run for the Jets.
Laurie Cooke added an RBI double to take the lead 3-0.
NSU was able to score 2 in the bottom of the inning to cut the lead to 1. The Jets pulled away again in the top of the fourth with an RBI from Gianna De-Luca Paape and an RBI from Navarro that added 2 more runs. The Jets were on top 5-2 heading into the bottom of the 4th inning.
The Riverhawks battled back in the bottom of the 4th and added 1 run, making it a 5-3 game. NSU was able to take the lead in the bottom of the 5th inning, adding 4 runs to make the game 7-5 in favor of the Riverhawks.
In the 6th inning the Jets tried to battle back, scoring 1 run with an RBI from Navarro to make the game a 1 run game. However, NSU was able to add one of their own in the bottom of the inning to extend the lead back to two with an inning left to play.
The Jets were unable to get the offense going in the top of the 7th inning to close the lead. NSU took game two, 8-6.
Navarro went 3-4 with 2 RBIs.
Madi Canez, Cooke, and
Samantha Gutierrez all went 2-4 from the plate.
