Last Time Out
Men's Soccer was receiving votes in the National United Soccer Coaches polls before facing the No. 22 Southern Nazarene Crimson Storm last Wednesday. The Jets dominated SNU in the first half and were able to score twice. A great start of the second half from the Crimson Storm saw them scoring three goals in nine minutes to retake the lead. Newman showed resilience, scoring three more goals for a final 5-3 win. Five different Newman players got on the score sheet.

Scouting the Jets
The Jets have won four of the first seven matches in the season. Last time that happened was in 2016. Gabriel Dias Juliani leads the Jets offense with nine points. Juliani and Alberto Romano tally a team-high four goals. Nicolo Lai has given the most assists on the team with four.

Behind Enemy Lines
Northeastern State comes to Wichita with a 2-3-3 overall record. They won their first two games of the season last week, beating GAC opponents Harding and Ouachita. Two second half goals were enough for NSU to beat the OBU Tigers. The RiverHawks finished fourth last season and lost in the GAC conference semifinals.
Rogers State holds a 2-4-2 record this season. The Hillcats come to Wilkins after a slow start to their non-conference season. They beat OBU and Harding last week, earning their first two season and conference victories. RSU tallied a total of seven goals between their two games last week, winning 3-0 and 4-1. The Hillcats return GAC first-teamer, Marcos Vasallo. The forward scored 12 goals in 20 games last season.

The Series
The RiverHawks lead the series against the Jets 12-2-1. Newman hasn't been able to beat NSU since 2019, when the Jets took home a 1-0 victory on the road.

The Jets haven't beaten the Hillcats since their 1-0 home win in 2019. RSU has won twelve out of the nineteen matchups with the Jets.

Next Up
Men's Soccer will head to Arkansas next week to face Harding on Thursday and Ouachita on Saturday.
