Last Time Out
Newman hosted the Ouachita Baptist Tigers and the Harding Bisons last week. After a tough loss to Fort Hays State the previous week, the Jets were looking to go back to winning ways and add more points to their already historic season. The Jets faced Ouachita on Thursday. Even though the Tigers scored first, Newman dominated the game from start to finish leaving a final 4-1 score. Men's Soccer celebrated Senior Day on Saturday facing the Harding Bisons. Two Jet goals in each half were enough to surpass the Bisons and add the eighth win of the season.

Scouting the Jets
It was a record breaking weekend for the Jets. With his four goals over the two games, Alberto Romano broke two records, first for most goals scored in a season, and then for most points in a season. He currently has 12 goals and 25 points with at least four games left to play. The previous goals record was held by Carlos Bellosta Manchon and Ed Jabbari who scored 10 goals in the 2023 and the 2019 seasons. The points record was held by Carlos Bellosta Manchon and Luca Anelli with 23 points in the 2023 and 2015 seasons. Another broken record was the most assists in a season. Gustavo Dias Juliani assisted three of the four Jet goals on Saturday to get to a record-breaking 8 assists on the season. Felix Tellez Ramirez was the previous record holder with seven assists in the 2023 season.
Mario De Roque Zazon added two more assists to his tally. Gabriel Dias Juliani scored his sixth goal of the season against Harding.

Behind Enemy Lines
Rogers State currently stands third in the GAC rankings. They allow the second lowest amount of goals in the conference and score the fourth highest. Marcos Vasallo and Noah Preston-Watkins lead the Hillcats offense, while Declan Viljoen leads the conference in shutouts with four. The Hillcats competed but lost a close 2-1 matchup against the No. 17 Southern Nazarene Crimson Storm in their only game last week.

The RiverHawks haven't been able to record a win since September 28th when they beat Ouachita Baptist 2-1. They have tied their last three games, including a 0-0 and a 2-2 tie against Ouachita and Southern Nazarene this past week. Northeastern stands fifth in the conference. They rank third in most goals against and second in least goals scored.

The Series
The Jets hold a 5-13-2 record against the Hillcats. Newman's last win was in 2019 with a 1-0 final score at Wilkins Field. Rogers State won the first matchup this season final a 1-4 final score.

Against the RiverHawks, the Jets have a 3-12-1 record. Newman had a comfortable 5-1 win in their first match this season at Wilkins Field. Their last win before that was also in the 2019 season.

Next Up
The Jets will host Fort Hays State on Thursday and travel to Oklahoma on Saturday to face Southern Nazarene for their last two games of the regular season.
