Jets finish 2nd at Jayhawk Classic, 3rd at Leatherneck Classic

TOPEKA, Kan. & ROCKPORT, Ill. - The Jets traveled to Topeka to compete in the Jayhawk Classic and then to Rockport to compete in the Leatherneck Classic. 

Jayhawk Classic
Men's Bowling traveled to the Jayhawk Classic held in Topeka and continued their hot start to the season. The Jets got off to a good start on the first day of competition with the lead. Liam Hardman would average 219 to lead the Jets and get named to the All-Tournament team, his first as a Jet. 
 
The Jets came out slow, but consistent on day two and would finish in second place going into Match play. The Jets would face No. 7 seed Morningside in the first best of three matches. The Jets would make quick work of the Mustangs with a 2-0 victory, which would set up a semifinal match against Lindenwood. The Jets would split the first two games and were able to pullout the third game to win the match 2-1. This win would set up another match with Wichita State. The Jets would bowl a good match against the Shockers, but fall 0-2 to finish in second place.

Leatherneck Classic
The Jets traveled to Rockport the next weekend to compete in the Leatherneck Classic hosted by Western Illinois. The Jets got out to a slow start but remained consistent all day and would move up to seventh place after day one. Senior, Silas limes would pace the Jets averaging 233 on day one. His day would also include a 299 game. The Jets came out on Sunday and bowled four consistent sets of baker games which allowed them to move into sixth place and qualify for match play for the third event in a row. 
 
The Jets would face #3 Mount Mercy in the round of eight and would quickly dispatch the Mustangs 2-0 and move on to the semi final match against Wichita State. This would be the 3rd match against the Shockers this year. The Jets have split the match up so far. In a incredible contested match the Jets would fall 259-267 in game one and then182-184 in game 2 to finish match 0-2. The Jets finished in 3rd place, the Jets have three wins, a second place finish, and a third place in their five events to start the season. 
 
The Jets are currently ranked 10th in the country in the current USBC power rankings.
 
The Jets will compete in the Match Games Championship held in Fairview Hts, Ill November 23-24th to finish out fall semester of competition.
