DALLAS, Texas- The NCBCA released its first poll of the 2024-2025 season for USBC Collegiate Men's Bowling. The Jets earned the fifth spot with 788 total points.
The Jets started off the season with three first place finishes. They started with wins at SWIBC 1 and 2, where the Jets were led by
Kalin Ogata and
Brady Longenecker on day one, then on day two they were led by
Zach Smullen and
Noah Akiona. These four bowlers would all make their first All-Tournament teams of the year. Smullen also shot a 300 game on the second day of play. The Jets found their third title at the Mid States Championships were the Jets went into bracket play at the 4th seeded team. The Jets beat McKendree, and Wichita State to punch their ticket to the finals. In the finals, the Jets matched up against Oklahoma Christian, who was previously ranked No. 3, and beat the Eagles at 3-1 to claim the title. The Jets then went on to play second a the Jayhawk Collegiate Challenege, third place at the Leatherneck Classic, and eighth at the Match Games Championships. Men's Bowling will head out on the road next on December 18th and

The NCBCA membership includes college bowling coaches, club advisors, tournament directors, and conference officers. Each NCBCA member completes a ballot ranking the top 20 USBC Collegiate programs. On each ballot, the 1st place team receives 40 points, 2nd place-34 points, 3rd place-30 points, 4th place-28 points, 5th place-26 points, 6th place-24 points, 7th place-22 points, 8th place-20 points, 9th place-18 points, 10th place-16 points, 11th place14 points, 12th place-12 points, 13th place-10 points, 14th place-8 points, 15th place-6 points, 16th place-5 points, 17th place-4 points, 18th place-3 points, 19th place-2 points, and 20th place-1 point. NCBCA member ballots are tabulated and generate the NCBCA Coaches' Poll.
