INDIANAPOLIS, Ind.- The Men's bowling team traveled to Indianapolis, Indiana this weekend to compete in the Hoosier Classic.  The Hoosier Classic is the regular season finale for the men before they head to postseason. The Hoosier Classic is the biggest event of the season with 65 teams represented from all over the country, it also has the toughest field in college bowling.

The Jets would get off to a great start and never be out of the top five on day one. The team averaged 210.4 for Saturday's team game portion with sophomore Brady Longenecker leading the way finishing in 10th overall and averaging 225.2 for the five games. Freshman Liam Hardman would also finish in the top 25 finishing in 22nd place with a 215.8 average. The Jets would end the day in 5th place searching for the top eight finish after qualifying to make it to bracket play.

Sunday brought great execution and good scoring on a very demanding pattern. The Jets would average 195 for the 15 games of Baker qualifying in sixth place earning them a spot in the bracket for the first time since 2010 when the Jets finished in third place.

The Jets would be taking on cross town rival Wichita State in a quarterfinal match. The Jets would win the first 2 games of the best of 3 matches to take down the No. 2 ranked Shockers and move on to the semifinal match against No. 3 ranked Mount Mercy. The Jets would split the first two games, but the Mustangs would win game 3 and the match 2-1. The Jets would end up in T-3rd place and one of the best performances in the year. "That's the best I have seen them bowl all year," said Coach Crumley.

The Jets have qualified for the post season again which makes 22 years in a row. Sectionals will be held on March 7-9 to try to qualify for the National Championships to be held in Las Vegas, Nevada on April 14-19.
