Scouting the Jets
Coach RJ Allen returns as the Jets Head Coach. Newman returns five players from last year, adding a lot of new faces in the off season. Sam Somerhalder is a key returner for the Jets as he is the returning leading scorer (278) , leading rebounder (141) , games played, steals (27) , minutes (752). Somerhalder will look to be a key contributor in the Jets new squad this season. Jacob Joe and Boston Stanton III also return for the Jets this season. Stanton II and Joe both contributed more than 150 points last season and will look to continue to build off of that.

Behind Enemy Lines
SWOSU was picked 11th in the GAC preseason coaches poll. The Bulldogs finished the 2023-24 season with a 10-18 record, clinching a spot in the postseason as the 6th seed. They lost in the first playoffs game to No. 3 seed Northwestern Oklahoma State 74-82. The Bulldogs return Senior forward, Denali Alexander. Alexander was second in the team in field goal percentage with .519 and fourth in points per game with 7.4.

Arkansas Tech was picked 1st in the GAC preseason coaches poll. Last season, the Wonder Boys shared the regular-season title and won the program's third GAC Championship title. They return Tournament MVP Cassius Brooks and All-Tournament selection Kade Shaffer. Brooks averaged 13.2 points and shot 38.8 percent from the 3-point arc. Shaffer averaged 8.0 points and 4.6 assists per game.

The Series
The Jets have only faced the Bulldogs twice. Their first matchup was in November 2010 when Newman won the game in over time 91-78. Their second game was in 2019. SWOSU won 92-83.

Against the Wonder Boys, the Jets lost their only matchup 70-94 back in January 3rd 2008.
