HAYS, Kan.- Wrestling traveled to Hays to compete in the Bob Smith Open. Three Jets placed in the tournament. Foust placed second in the 133 weight class.
Trent Moses placed sixth in the 141 weight class.
Caleb Wunsch placed second in the 285 weight class.
Dylan Sheler (125)
In the first round, Sheler lost by major decision to Nico Tocci of Air Force (15-6). This pushed Sheler to the first round of consolation. In the first round, Sheler won by major decision over Justin Shaw of Ouachita Baptist (15-2). In the second round, Shelter won by technical fall over an Adams State opponent (19-3). Shelter then lost by technical fall to Caleb Coyle of Nebraska-Kearney (19-3)
Jaxson Newcomb (133)
Newcomb won in the first round by technical fall (15-0). In the second round, Newcomb lost by technical fall to Cole Rogers of Western Colorado. This pushed Newcomb to the consolation bracket round two. In the second round, he won by decision at 10-4. Then, in the third round Newcomb lost by major decision (15-6).
Keton Patterson (133)
Patterson won his first round by decision over Isaiah Sisneros of Colorado Mesa (1-0). Then, in the second round, he lost by decision at 3-2. This loss pushed Patterson to round two of the consolation bracket. In round two, he won by fall over Konner Alejandro of York (2:59). In the third round, Patterson lost by major decision at 16-6.
Kaven Bartlett (133)
Bartlett fell in his first round match by decision at 6-0. Then in the first round of consolation play, Bartlett lost by major decision at 9-0.
Jevin Foust (133): 2nd Place
In the first round, Foust won by decision over Andrew Honas of Fort Hays State (11-6). In the second round, Foust won again with a major decision at 13-2. Then, in the quarterfinal, Foust won by fall (3:42) over Joseph Enockson of Adams State. In the semifinal, Foust continued his win streak with a win by technical fall over Brenyn Delano of Nebraska Kearney (20-3). In the 1st place match, Hayden Mills of Nebraska defeated Foust by major decision (14-4). Foust earned 2nd place in the 133 weight class.
Trent Moses (141): 6th Place
In the first round, Moses won by fall over Ethan Boles of Barton CC ( 3:44). Then in the second round, Moses won by another fall over Daniel Vines of Cloud County CC (1:31). In the quarterfinal, Moses lost by decision to Trason Oehme of Air Force at 8-3. Moses then got pushed to the fourth round of consolation where he won by decision at 11-10. Then in the fifth round, Moses won by major decision at 18-7. In the consolation semifinal, Moses lost to Trey Dillow of Central Missouri by fall (2:29). This loss put Moses in the 5th place match where he lost by no contest to Trason Oehme of Air Force.
Hunter Dietrich (157)
In round one, Dietrich received a bye. Then in the second round, Dietrich won by major decision over Kayden Blake of Barton CC (Maj 17-8). Dietrich then won by fall over Zack Fish of Adams State (1:34) in the third round. Dietrich then moved on to the quarterfinal where he lost by fall against Layton Schneider (3:57). This pushed Dietrich to round six of the consolation bracket. In round six, Dietrich finished his day with a loss by fall (6:27).
Jace Fisher (165)
In round one, Fisher won by fall over Michael Hipp (Barton CC) (Fall 1:36). In the second round, Christopher Minto (Nebraska) won by decision over Fisher (12-5). Then, in the consolation round two, Fisher won by technical fall at 17-2. In the third consolation round, Fisher won again by fall over Cannon Carey of Labette CC (6:41). Finally, in the consolation round four, Fisher lost by medical forfeit.

Geer fell in the quarterfinal by decision at 8-5. This loss pushed him to round four of consolation, where he lost by decision (7-6) to Maddox Nelson of Nebraska Kearney.

Wunsch took second place in the 285 weight class.
