The Jets finally return home after more than two weeks on the road, taking on Concordia St. Paul for a three-game series at McCarthy Field.

The series has made a slight adjustment in schedule, with the series now beginning on Saturday at 2 PM and concluding with game three on Monday at noon.

Last Time Out
In the last game of Newman's Oklahoman travels, the Navy and Red took on Southwestern Oklahoma in a midweek contest.
While the Jets had started off the season hitting well, they were mostly shut down by a stubborn Bulldogs outfield.
Jacob Butash got Newman's lone run of the day in a game that was lopsided in favor of SWOSU.

At The Plate
Several Jets had great starts to their season on the offensive side, with five players hitting .300 or better.
Dalton Smith currently leads the way in batting average, with .467 batting average through the first nine games. At one point, Smith was hitting above .500 to open the season.
Trent Trammell, who played in just a few games last season, as proven to be a valuable player at the plate, as he has had several games with multiple hits. Trammell currently is second on the team in total hits.
Senior
Eli Wohl, who has started at the top of the lineup in all nine games thus far, leads the team and home runs and is tied for first in hits. Wohl's three home runs lead the team, as he is averaging .303.
Newcomers
Garrett Arnold and
Will Bomersbach also had some big games of offense for Newman, as the two combined for 11 RBIs in the early start of the season.
Catch This!
Catchers
Dalton Smith and
Garrett Arnold have been quite explosive to start the season, with both seeing plenty of action as catchers.
With a combined 17 hits and four home runs, the catching duo have been on fire for Newman, being the most consistent hitters the team has had to start the season.

On The Mound
Reliever
Andrew Prieve has had a fantastic start to his season, including earning his first save of the season against Southern Nazarene for the Jets first win of the season.
Making eight strikeouts against the Crimson Storm, Prieve made the save allowing just two hits in three innings. With an ERA of 2.45 and WHIP of 1.64, Prieve has been a reliable pitcher for Newman through the first several weeks.
Cole Landgraf also has a WHIP of 1.64, having struck out ten batters and only walking three batters through eleven innings.
Connor Rowe has been another key piece in the Jets pitching core, striking out nine in nine innings.

Concordia St Paul is set to begin their season in Wichita this weekend, having also begun their season in Kansas last season against Washburn.

The Enemy Dugouts
The Golden Bears of Concordia St Paul are coming off a 17-28 season in 2023, winning 13 conference games in the NSIC. CSP struggled on the road last season, winning just three games.
The Golden Bears were picked to finish 11
th in the NSIC Preseason Coaches Poll, which is where the team finished at the end of last season.

After heading to Southwestern College on Tuesday, the Jets will open conference play against Rogers State for the second straight season in Wichita.
