3/29/2024 7:16:00 PM

Edmond, Okla. - The Jets come back to action after a week with no games. Cold temperatures forced the Jets to cancel the scheduled doubleheader against McPherson on Tuesday without the intention of rescheduling in the near future. Newman will travel to Edmond with the aim of putting up a fight against the number nine ranked team in the country.

Last time out:

Softball dominated the Missouri Western Griffons in the last game they played with a 7-1 final score.

The Jets thrived in the second inning scoring a total of four runs.

Hayley Bonython, Gianna Navarro, and Rylee Gresham led the Jets offense with a combined four RBIs, four hits, and two runs.

The defense was led by Senior Jackie Gold who earned her seventh win of the season after an outstanding performance only allowing one run in the whole game and accumulating a total of seven strikeouts.

Opponent:

Central Oklahoma:

The Bronchos are undefeated in conference so far this season and have won the last nineteen games they've played.

The last time they played was a week ago when they hosted Northwest Missouri in a MIAA doubleheader. The Bronchos won both games.

Rylee Lemos, Terin Ritz, and Jacee Minter lead the Bronchos offense with Lemos and Ritz averaging over .400 batting. The three players have a combined twenty six home runs, one hundred and five RBIs, and one hundred and eighteen hits.

 Home talent:

Hayley Bonython is the head of the Jets offense with an outstanding .407 hitting average, thirty five hits, five home runs, and thirty RBIs.

Freshman Malie Noda is a great contributor to the offense as well with a .319 batting average, twenty nine hits, and eighteen RBIs.
