Last Time Out
The Jets were receiving votes before traveling to Lakewood, Colorado to face Saint Martin's and Western Oregon. 
Newman comfortably won their game against SMU with a 4-0 final score. Paulo Villalobos led the Jets with a goal and an assist, his second of the season. 
Men's Soccer wasn't able to get the win against Western Oregon. Two early goals from the Wolves made it hard for the Jets to come back. 

Scouting the Jets
Men's Soccer is off to their best start of a season since 2018, having won three out of their first six games. Alberto Romano and Gabriel Dias Juliani lead the Jets in goals with three. Juliani accumulates the most points on the team with seven. Nicolo Lai has provided the most assists for the Jets with three. 

Behind Enemy Lines
Southern Nazarene comes back as the reigning GAC champion with a 15-4-2 overall record last year. The Crimson Storm have won the last three GAC regular seasons.
The Crimson Storm were voted to finish first in the Preseason Coaches Poll. They return forward, Unaiz Shajani who accumulated 13 goals and 6 assists last season, leading the GAC in goals and points.  
This season they hold a 3-2-1 record so far. They lost the last match they played 0-2 against Midwestern State. 

The Series
The Jets have faced the Crimson Storm twelve times, with both teams winning six times. Last season, Newman defeated #17 SNU in Bethany with a 1-2 final score. Southern Nazarene had their revenge, beating the Jets 1-4 in the last game of the season at Wilkins Field.

The Jets will stay home next week to host Northeastern State on October 3rd at 7 PM and Rogers State on October 5th at 1 PM.
