Anna Thornhallsdottir would convert the penalty kick to put the Lopers on the board, with a 1-0 lead. The Jets recorded two of their first half shots after the Lopers goal, but Newman could not connect in the first 45 minutes of play. Emma Kolbe floated a ball over the goalkeeper to find the back of the net to make the score 1-1. The Jets were able to outshoot the Lopers and earn five corner tries in the second half, but were unable to break the even score. Newman's defense also held strong in the second half, allowing just four shots and no shots on goal. Though the Jets had two shots on goal in the second half, the game ended in a 1-1 draw.

Against the Tigers, Newman fell short 3-0. The Jets offense was aggressive early, finding two shots on goal in the first 16 minutes of play. Delphine Dzidzinyo Sosu and Allison Hernandez led the way with the shots on goal, but the Tigers goalkeeper made two saves to keep the game at 0-0. Minutes later, Maylani Birckbichler would get a shot on goal but again the Tigers goalkeeper made a play. Carla Apodaca made a huge save with 13 minutes left in the half to hold off the Tigers. However, FHSU was able to convert in the 34th minute to take the 1-0 lead. The Tigers would hold their 1-0 lead heading into the halftime break. The Tigers were able to tack on two goals in the second half to extend their lead to 3-0. Taylor Hill of the Tigers netted their two goals in the half, one at the 78 minute mark and one following just three minutes later at the 81st minute mark.
