WICHITA- The Jets crossed the street to face the Friends Falcons for a Thursday night dual. The Jets lost a back and forth match to the Falcons, dropping the match 26-20.
The Falcons jumped out to a 3-0 lead, taking the 125 lb match.
Jevin Foust took the first win for the Jets in the 133 lb match, taking on Isaac Perez. Foust took the match by Technical fall, giving the Jets a 5-3 advantage. After dropping the 141 lb match,
Colby Schreiner gave Newman the advantage, taking his match by way of fall at 2:14. The Falcons then took the next match by fall to make the score 12-11 in favor of Friends.
Jace Fisher wrestled Jacob Knowles at 165 lb. Fisher put up a dominant effort, taking the match with a technical fall, winning his match 20-3. The Jets lost the next two matches before
Erik Tomanek took the 197 lb match by decision. This closed the gap to 22-20 in favor of the Falcons, setting up the 285 lb match to be the decider. The Falcons took the 285 lb match and won the overall dual, 26-20.
The Jets are back on the road on Sunday to face Central Missouri in Warrensburg.
