2025 CSC Academic All-District M/W Basketball Teams Announced

Four Women’s Basketball and Three Men’s Basketball athletes earn Academic All-District Honors

GREENWOOD, Ind.- Seven Newman Basketball athletes were named to the College Sports communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team on Tuesday afternoon. The 2024-25 Academic All-District® Men's and Women's Basketball Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA. Academic All-District® honorees were considered for advancement to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. Student-athletes selected as CSC Academic All-America® finalists are denoted with an asterisk and will advance to the national ballot to be voted on by CSC members. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced April 15, 2025 (men) and April 16, 2025 (women).
 
Men's Basketball
 
Boston Stanton III
Stanton III was a huge contributor for the men's team on all cylinders. Stanton III totaled 721 minutes while averaging the second highest minutes per game and starting in all 26 games that he played in. Stanton III scored 316 total points while shooting 41% from the field and 38% from behind the arc. Stanton III hit 44 three pointers, with his season high seven three-pointers made in the win against Emporia State just a few weeks ago. Stanton III hit his season and career high 30 points in the same game against the Hornets, where he shot 8-16 from the floor for 50% from the field and 63% from behind the arc. Stanton III dished out a total of 58 assists, brought down a total of 93 rebounds, and totaled 31 steals. Stanton III finished 22nd in the MIAA in total scoring, 17th in three point field goals per game, and 20th in steals. 

*Finalist- In addition to their selection for the All-District Team, Stanton III was chosen for the CSC Academic All-American ballot, which will be voted on by CSC members. The All-America teams will be announced on April, 16th 2025. 
 
Sam Somerhalder
Somerhalder led the Jets in minutes played this season with 828 total minutes while starting 28 of 28 games. Somerhalder was a key piece in the Jets success this year scoring a total of 281 points, ten points per game. Somherhalder led in multiple stat categories with 6.1 rebounds per game (172 total) and led the team in assists with 85. Somerhalder shot 51% from the field, making 120 total field goals. His season high points was against Pittsburg State in January where he scored 21 points where he also made his season high field goals with ten. Somerhalder was selected as the MIAA Men's Basketball athlete of the week for week 12 of play. During this week, Somerhalder helped lead the Jets to a 2-0 week in MIAA play with wins over UAFS and NSU. During this week of play, he totaled 37 points, 18 rebounds, and recorded a league high 12 assists for 18.5 points, 9.0 rebounds, and 6.0 assists per game. He also shot 80% from the field that week going 17-21 from the floor. Somerhalder finished 10th in the MIAA in rebounding, 8th in field goal percentage, 16th in assists, and 4th in assist/turnover ratio.
 
Jordan Glenn-Hawkins
Glenn-Hawkins was a key piece to the Jets team this season. He played in 24 games, averaging 26.3 minutes per game and a total of 631 minutes. Glenn-Hawkins tallied 41% FG with 82 made field goals, and 30 3FG made for an average of 10.2 points per game and 244 total points. Glenn-Hawkins hit the 1,000 point milestone against Pittsburg State this season when he scored his season high of 18 points. Glenn-Hawkins dished out 38 assists and tallied 34 steals. He also averaged four rebounds per game.

 
Women's Basketball

Paige Craft
Craft started in all 28 games with an average of 26.4 minutes and a total of 740 minutes. Craft scored a total of 227 points with an average of eight points per game, the Jets second leading scorer. She dished out 64 assists, leading the Jets squad in that category. Craft also tallied 2.8 rebounds per game. Craft's career high was this season at Central Oklahoma where she scored 20 points with eight field goals made on just 15 shots. 
 
Saige Grampsas
Grampsas led the Jets this season in minutes played with 860 total minutes while averaging 30.7 minutes per game through 28 games played/started. Grampsas also led the Jets with 42 three-pointers made (42). Grampsas dished out 58 assists this season and added 16 steals. Grampsas scored a total of 158 points, 5.6 points per game. Her season high was against Central Christian where she scored 22 points off of 7-14 shooting with six three-pointers made. 
 
Monica Redondo
Redondo started in 27 of 28 games this season where she played a total of 699 minutes with 25 minutes played per game. Redondo dished out 46 total assists with just under two assists per game. Redondo scored a total of 107 points, averaging 3.8 points per game. Redondo's season high came against Washburn where she scored 11 points off of 3-9 FG. 
 
Delainey Wylie
Wylie led the Jets in blocks this season with 55 total blocks, finishing second in the MIAA. Wylie played all 28 games, averaging 13.4 minutes per game with 375 total minutes. Wylie scored a total of 1885 points with 3.6 points per game. Wylie's season high was against Central Christian with 14 points with five field goals made. Wylie also brought down a season high six rebounds in the game at CCCK. Wylie's season high blocks was against MSSU where she rejected six shots.
