WICHITA- The Jets were back at home for one of their last two games of the season, for a Thursday night match-up against Northwest Missouri State. The Bearcats took the game 65-68.
How it Happened:
- The Jets kicked off the first half with a quick three-pointer by Syris Williams. Jacob Joe would then make a fast break layup to take the Jets up 5-0 in under a minute of play. NW Missouri would go on to tie the game. Points would then go back and forth, with the largest lead being Newman's, with a seven-point buffer. At halftime, the Jets would lead 36-37.
- After a technical foul on a Bearcat, the Jets started the half with two good free throws from Joe, followed by a jumper from Sam Somerhalder, which would take the Jets' lead to five points. Both teams would trade points, but a six-point run would give the Bearcats a six-point lead. The Bearcats would stretch their lead out to nine points via the made free throws with eight minutes left in the half. A Joe three-pointer would bring the Jets back within one point. Two late free throws would seal the win for the Bearcats, 68-65.
Player Notes:
- Cyrus Shaw led the Jets with 19 points, going 8-18 from the field goal range.
- Somerhalder went 6-10, with 14 points, and led the team with 31 minutes.
- Terrell Wright had a double-double with 10 points and 13 rebounds.
