In game two, Pittsburg State again struck first, but Newman briefly tied the game in the second when Hannah Nordby walked in Aspen Peterson; however, the Gorillas responded with consistent scoring, including a two-run homer and a three-run fifth inning to take control at 7–1. The Jets showed late fight in the sixth, with RBI hits from Malie Noda and Kinley Powell cutting the deficit to 7–3, but they could not complete the comeback.
