CANYON, Texas — NU lost to West Tex. A&M 1-0 on Saturday. The Jets withstood five WT attacking actions from 67:42 to 79:08 without conceding, but could not find an equalizer.

How it happened:
WT created the first chances with Felix Casas shooting wide at 2:05 and a corner at 4:48, then Ben Scotford scored off Casas' assist at 8:03 to put the Jets behind 1-0. The half tightened shortly after, with Oumar Berete booked at 12:59, Yohsuke Ono forcing Bryce Cottle into a save at the same mark, and Mathis Lefevre answering with a save on Edward Acosta before the Buffs added a corner and two more shots by 21:11. NU later got a 32:38 attempt from Daiki Okada, while Lefevre made another save at 41:22 as WT took the 1-0 lead into halftime.

WT opened the second half with pressure while the Jets defended a 1-0 deficit, earning a corner at 48:22 and taking five shots by 53:29, including back-to-back saves by Lefevre on Edward Acosta and Ben Scotford. NU pushed back with Okada sending a shot left in the 55th minute and Max Wetzel putting an attempt on frame at 59:04, but Bryce Cottle made the save to keep the score unchanged. The half tightened through the middle stages, with the Jets earning a corner at 65:05 before the Buffs generated more looks from Scotford, Antonio De La Torre and Felix Casas, and Oscar Duffy forced another Cottle save at 76:00 before NU won a corner moments later. Lefevre added late saves on Acosta at 79:08 and Casas at 88:30, while the Jets' final corner came at 87:55, but WT held the 1-0 score through the end of the game.

Saturday's game was the final of six non-conference games for the Jets. All six were played away from home to begin the year.
