Hall of Fame
The 2004 men’s volleyball team played for the national championship in just its third year of existence with a 29-11 record. The Jets hosted the tournament and went in as the No. 5 seed, upsetting the No. 4 and No. 2 seed in pool play in exciting fashion, going five sets in each. The Jets then won a thriller in five sets in the semifinals against the defending National Champions the No. 3 seed. In the final, Newman played against the No. 1 seed, losing after a hard fought four sets. Tom Mendoza was named to the NAIA All-Tournament team.
