WICHITA - The Newman men's soccer team will be in action this weekend, hosting a pair of Texas opponents at Wilkins Field. The Jets host Heartland Conference foe St. Edwards Friday at 7 p.m. followed by No. 9 Incarnate Word Sunday afternoon at 1 p.m..

Newman will look to improve to 2-1 in Heartland Conference play Friday against conference foe St. Edwards. The Jets enter the game coming off an ovetime loss to Northeastern State last week. Newman goalkeeper

St. Edwards enters the game having lost four of its last five matches and will look to improve upon its 3-5-1 record. The Hilltoppers lead the all-time series 10-2 with their last loss to Newman coming in 1996. SEU's offense is led by JR Ellis and Andrew Fox, both with four goals on the season while Tyler Miles and James Martin each have three assists to lead the team. The Hilltopper's goal is protected by John Kaschak who has made 25 saves this season, posting a .625 save percentage while going 3-4 on the year.

Ninth-ranked Incarnate Word looks to continue its winning ways having won seven of its last eight entering its match at Northeastern State Friday evening. Cardinal goalkeeper Chris Fider has made 20 saves on the year, posting a .769 save percentage with four shut-outs. Fider is 5-1 on the season. UIW's offense is led by Callum Riley who has netted seven goals this season and is followed by Carlos Picado (5) and Edgar Alvarez (4). Vincent Bailey leads the Cardinals with five assists on the year. Incarnate Word will travel to Wichita to take on the Jets Sunday, Oct. 9 and 1 p.m..
