Box Score WICHITA - Fort Hays State scored three second half goals, and handed the Newman men's soccer team a 3-1 loss Sunday afternoon at Wilkins Field.
Chris Vaughn scored Newman's only goal in the 20th minute.

Brandon Carlos corner kick.

- Fort Hays St. scored all three of their second half goals in a 20 minute span starting with a Ricardo Yeverino goal in the 60th minute. Yeverino also scored FHSU's final goal in the 80th minute.
- Newman had 16 fouls in the match including 11 in the second half while FHSU had 12 for the game.
- Sunday's game was the first-ever men's soccer contest between the two schools.
- FHSU was whistled for offsides nine times in the match to Newman's one.
With the loss the Jets fall to 1-3 on the season. They will return to action Friday, hosting St. Mary's in their Heartland Conference opener. Kickoff is slated for 7 p.m. at Wilkins Field.
