Flock of Eagles Take Down the Jets

TULSA, Okla. Newman battled it out with Oral Roberts Wednesday as the close encounter between the Jets and Golden Eagles ended in a 2-1 away defeat for the Jets.

The NCAA Division I school looked to a slightly more dominant grip on the game in the first half, as the Golden Eagles outshot the Jets 13 to 6. That said Jets goal keeper Robin Allard only had 3 saves to make out of the for that were on frame, matching up well with their opponents whose goal keeper, Ryan Grashik made 4 saves to keep the Jets out.

After a first half goal by Golden Eagles player Neville Francis, the Jets approached the second half with much more meaning and conviction behind the team's method of play.

An even half for shots on goal, Nathan Modesto would break the second half goal lock as he scored from a penalty kick, something the Brazilian player is all too familiar with.

The Jets matching the opponents the entire second half were then later score on as Cody Lofgren claimed his second assist of the game setting up Johnny Chavez.

One of the closing games of the season was not to be for the Jets, as the team now look to finish it's season with a bang in Okla. On Saturday Nov. 3 when Newman take on Oklahoma Christian University at 6 PM.

The Jets record now stands at 6-10-1 overall with a conference record of 4-5-1.
