Box Score WICHITA – McMurry scored midway through the first overtime to down Newman men's soccer, 1-0, on Saturday (Oct. 12) at Wilkins Field. The Jets dropped to 0-10-1 and 0-3 in the Heartland Conference.
 
The War Hawks scored the game-winning goal in the 96th minute as McMurry dribbled by the NU defense and knocked in the goal.
 
The Jets dominated statistically in the game. NU totaled 18 shots to seven from the War Hawks, including an 11-3 advantage in shots on goal. NU finished with 11 corner kicks to one from McM.  
 
Zac Gramke led the Jets with seven shots and two on goal. Luca Anelli and Jordan Saybounkham each had three shots.
 
Steven Hamersky made the start in goal, making two saves and allowing the one goal.
 
The Jets continue its four-game home stand on Monday (Oct. 14) against St. Edward's at 12 p.m. at Wilkins Field.
