WICHITA – The Newman volleyball team returns home for three straight home matches and starts tonight (Oct. 15) against Cameron at 7 p.m. inside Fugate Gymnasium.
Come out and support the volleyball team and help them raise awareness for organ donation. Show proof of being an organ donor or sign up to be an organ donor at the table located inside the gym doors and enter for a chance to win a free t-shirt. There will also be a chance to win free pizza, prizes and free give-aways.
The Lady Jets have won six straight matches dating back to Sept. 28. During the stretch, NU defeated McMurry (3-2), Texas A&M International (3-1), St. Mary's (3-0), Southwestern College (3-1), Northwestern Oklahoma State (3-0) and Oklahoma Panhandle State (3-1). The Lady Jets are currently 10-6 and 5-4 in the Heartland Conference.
Cameron enters tonight's match with a 5-12 record and 0-7 in the Heartland Conference. Kelle Carver leads Cameron with 205 kills, Kayla Hebert has 516 assists and Lauren Acuna totals 215 digs.
NU returns to conference action this Thursday and Saturday with home matches against UA-Fort Smith and Dallas Baptist.
