Box Score WICHITA – The Newman men's soccer team scored a game-winning penalty kick goal to win, 3-2, over Texas-Permian Basin on Monday (Oct. 21) afternoon at Wilkins Field in the Jets final home game of the season. NU picked up its first win, improving to 1-12-1 on the season and 1-5 in the Heartland Conference.
 
Senior 
Zac Gramke scored the game-winning penalty kick in the 80th minute. The Jets got the PK after a foul on forward 
Luca Anelli in the box. The goal was Gramke's first of the season.
 
The Jets took an early 1-0 advantage in the 25th minute on a goal from 
Taylor Henry, his first of the season, on a run from the right wing and his shot beat the keeper low and to the right. An Anelli pass set up the goal.
 
The Falcons tied the score in the 33rd minute on a header in the box on a free kick. The two teams were tied 1-1 at the half.
 
NU regained the lead in the 66th minute when 
Robert Butler fired a shot from 25 yards.
 
In the 75th minute, UTPB once again knotted the score with a goal from Nathan Cotterell, his 11th of the season.
 
The Jets held a 19-17 shot advantage and a 7-3 advantage in corner kicks.
 
Steven Hamersky went 90 minutes in goal, making eight saves and allowing the two goals.
 
NU finishes the season with three-straight road games. The Jets travel to Dallas Baptist on Saturday (Oct. 26) for a 5 p.m. game and then go to Oklahoma Christian on Monday (Oct. 28) for a 5 p.m. game.
