Box Score WICHITA – The Oklahoma Panhandle State scored all four runs off home runs to defeat Newman softball, 4-3, on Saturday (March 29) at the Newman Softball Field. The Lady Jets dropped to 13-16 and 4-8 in the Heartland Conference.

Kelsey Jones put NU up 1-0 with a solo home run to center field in the first inning. The Aggies tied the score at 1-1 with a solo home run of their own.

A three-run homer in the fourth inning put OPSU in front 4-1. The Lady Jets plated one run in the fifth and another run in the sixth for the 4-3 final score.

Alyssa Jarman brought home Lacey Cowan with a single in the fifth inning. After a double by Kassidy Furr, Kelsey Fisher singled to right field to score Furr from second. Fisher also had a fly ball come up just short in the fourth inning as OPSU made the catch at the wall.

Jarman went 2-for-4 with the one RBI. The Lady Jets totaled eight hits.

Jensen Cromer pitched the first 3.1 innings, allowing the four runs. Jones came in to pitch the final 3.2 innings and allowed only one hit and struck out three batters.
